  • Job Summary

    With general direction, analyses of LAN/WAN systems, including planning, designing, evaluation, and selection of operating systems / protocol suites. Resolves complex inter-operability problems to maintain operations across all platforms. Configures complex systems for user environments.

    Responsibilities

    Provides day-to-day system analysis and support (monitoring, troubleshooting, configuring, reporting, implementing, installing, and upgrading network hardware/software).

    Plans, designs, evaluates, selects, implements, tests, documents, and maintains Network (LAN/WAN) systems.

    Performs network needs assessment and evaluates new technology to improve network operations / performance.

    Acts as a key member of the Networking Team by providing recommendations to help maintain a high level of availability of systems.

    Ensures completion of assigned projects / tasks within time, cost, and scope constraints.

    Provides advanced technical expertise, consulting, and support to staff members.

    Engages external vendors when necessary to resolve issues.

    Participates in on-call rotational support during off-hours.

    Key Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems; five years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.

    Requires a background that would not preclude a security clearance granted.

    Experience with structured cabling standards.

    Experience with Layer 2/3 configuration and troubleshooting.

    Experience in Enterprise Level Firewall administration.
