POSITION PURPOSE:
Overall responsibility for maintaining the networks, servers, operating systems and communication lines. Manage the resources dedicated to supporting office automation, PCs and end-user equipment, network and systems security and database administration. Responsible for Risk Assessments, Disaster Recovery Plan, Vendor Management and Asset Management. Responsible for assisting CU*Answers Managed IT client credit union's projects and support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
Assumes responsibility for planning, organizing, monitoring, and managing all phases of information technology.
- Provides primary support for company's network and PC/LAN servers which includes planning, implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting network and system hardware and software.
- Sets up all new employees with PC workstation (AD, GOLD, Prodoc, Phone and Fax access), disconnects upon termination.
- Acts as 1st and 2nd level support for office workstations and devices, refers to CU*Answers for network services, edoc technicians if additional support is required.
- Acts as first level support for VOIP phones and all security equipment, refers to Windstream, AT Systems technicians if additional support is required.
- Performs thorough research and analysis to ensure the most effective technologies and methods are employed. Clearly communicates constraints, conflicts, requirements, compatibility issues, and items which could affect project outcome, final performance level, or customer satisfaction. Offers appropriate alternatives and contingency plans.
- Monthly completes rate changes, office walk throughs, test alarms, prepares various reports and conducts various tests.
- Quarterly participates in IS Committee Meetings, prepares agenda and maintains minutes.
- Participates in short and long-range planning for the department to select and utilize appropriate technologies to meet the evolving needs of the Credit Union and its members.
- Oversees the maintenance of hardware and software for the credit union's disaster recovery site and provides technical support for disaster recovery testing.
- Performs duties as assigned by CU*Answers.
- Assists CU*Answers managed IT clients with audit prep and remediation.
- Remote and onsite resource for CU*Answers managed IT client projects.
- Directs significant special projects as required.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Assumes responsibility for successfully maintaining Risk Assessments, Disaster Recovery, Vendor Management, Asset Management, Annual Audits, NMLS, etc.
- Annually reviews and updates various risk assessments including but not limited to: E-Commerce, FFIEC Cyber Security, and Robbery.
- Annually review and continually updates the Disaster Recovery Plan. Tests the Plan annually for power, ISP, phones, and system functionality. Annually conducts Disaster Recovery team meeting and maintains and annually updates the Business Impact Analysis as needed.
- Conducts vendor management reviews on new vendors and annually reviews high risk vendors.
- Works with various Auditors to prepare various audits, such as: ISRS, EVA-PT, RSA, GLBA, IT Policy, and SAFE Act, Tracks findings and initiates internal corrections and/or forwards to CU*Answers for resolution. Updates Risk Reduction Plan as necessary.
- Maintains records on all Mortgage Loan Officers NMLS registrations. Process fees, track expirations, sets up new employees and deactivates employees as needed.
- Maintains inventory of all IT assets, orders equipment as needed, tracks asset disposal with vendor.
- Annually reviews each employees GOLD permissions and active directory permissions, tracks changes throughout the year.
- Prepares annual IS update with help from Management for the Board of Directors.
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional working relations and communication with customers, project sponsors, service providers, and outside contacts.
- Responds to phone calls, emails, texts, or messages in a professional and timely manner.
- Provides regular updates on status of projects. Communicates information to appropriate parties.
- Tracks and resolves problems promptly and effectively.
- Promotes goodwill and a positive proactive image of the credit union.
Assumes responsibility for maintaining effective communication and coordination with credit union personnel and with management.
- Maintains regular contact with vendors, CU*Answers and other IT support personnel to obtain and covey information.
- Keeps management informed of projects, area activities, and any significant problems or concerns. Submits project reports as required.
- Works to achieve established goals and objectives.
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Ensures work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
- Stays informed of IT trends and developments.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ensures prompt response to and recovery from systems and network related production interruptions, across multiple hardware platforms, networks and operating systems.
- Anticipate system and network security/integrity risks and ensure adequate safeguards are maintained.
- Ensure credit union licensed PC software remains current by testing an updating software as new versions are released.
- Identify opportunities to improve services to the credit union and/or its members through use of new products and technologies.
- Develop recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements to products, pricing and processes by monitoring trends in financial services operations.
- Keeps senior management informed regarding key operating issues affecting the department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
- Microsoft 365 Modern Desktop Administration and Microsoft MTA Windows Server Administration Fundamentals certifications required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Strong knowledge of development cycles and standards.
- Thorough understanding of technology applications, processes, software, and equipment.
- Understanding of planning and development of large-scale technology projects.
- Knowledge of effective management techniques and methods.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Four or more years of similar or related experience.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Previous data processing experience including networks, PCs, data communications, mainframe and PC programming and data organization.
- Technical planning, project management and supervisory experience.
- Ability to discuss technical issues, effectively with other professionals as well as non-technical users.
- Demonstrate analytical and solid technical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work and travel independently and use general office equipment, give speeches and make presentations.
- Ability to plan and meet schedules.
