    Position Summary

    The Director of Human Resources will direct & lead all aspects of human resources management, payroll, benefits, 401k plan administration, and play a strategic role in company communications & culture initiatives. This role holds responsibility for HR policies and programs that support the organization's goals and objectives, while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Additionally, this role will lead initiatives & activities to enhance employee engagement, promoting a positive workplace culture to attract top talent to the organization.


    Responsibilities:

    • Manage HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the organization's objectives.
    • Manages the Payroll & HR Generalist as well as the Front Office Assistant roles.
    • Provide strategic guidance and support to senior leadership, managers & supervisors on HR-related matters.
    • Provide exceptional customer service to all levels of the organization from the CEO to each & every team member on all HR, Payroll & Benefits related matters.
    • Prepare & analyze HR metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and drive organizational performance.
    • Oversee employee relations activities, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
    • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor laws.
    • Lead recruitment efforts to attract and retain top talent, including sourcing, phone screening, scheduling interviews, and assisting with the selection of candidates.
    • Prepares & sends offer letters for all exempt-level positions.
    • Identify training needs, design, and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and competencies.
    • Identify & work with resources for available training funds from the state and/or federal level.
    • Manage all aspects of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental, vision, and the 401k retirement plan, serving as the primary point of contact.
    • Ensure compliance with ERISA and other regulatory requirements related to benefits administration.
    • Plan administration of the company's 401k plan, including enrollment, contributions, distributions, ongoing plan compliance & year-end compliance testing activities.
    • Oversight of the company’s performance management systems, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms.
    • Provide guidance and support to managers on performance management best practices.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including staying abreast of changes in labor laws and regulations and update policies and practices accordingly.
    • Collaborate with leadership to develop employer branding strategies and initiatives and participate in activities to enhance the organization's reputation as an employer of choice.
    • Participate as a member of the company’s Senior Leadership Team.
    • Partners with a variety of outside agencies, vendors & resources on a wide range of areas including staffing/recruitment, benefits, training, events, etc.
    • Other responsibilities as required.

    Requirements

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
    • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or other HR certifications preferred.
    • Experience with HRIS/Payroll system administration (Paylocity experience preferred)
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HR leadership role, with additional expertise in payroll, benefits, and 401k plan administration.
    • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including ERISA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, and FLSA.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
    • Proven track record of strategic HR management and organizational change.
