EIT is a Contract Manufacturer specializing in Electronic Manufacturing Services and serves customers in the sectors of Industry, Communications, Aerospace, Defense and Healthcare.

    Job Description:
    The position of Test Technician performs analysis, testing, and support of machines, tools, equipment, and systems with mechanical parts.
     
    • Operates and/or maintains equipment as directed.
    • Support hardware development efforts of mechanical tools, systems, and parts used in types of electronic equipment.
    • Construct and fabricate prototype equipment for new mechanical development, under the direction of Engineer(s).
    • Perform troubleshooting and failure analysis on pre-production mechanical systems; document the issues and resolution.
    • Designates rework instructions where necessary and resets work after rework.
    • Evaluate components to optimize new and released mechanical products.
    • Follow detailed documentation including design requirements, layout, diagrams, and maps to create and manufacture mechanical hardware products.
    • Interprets test data and checks results against specifications, test procedures and data sheets to determine proper functioning and quality of product.
    • Approves test results, records test data, submit test failure/acceptance reports and notifies supervisor of unusual conditions or trends.
    • Participate in product certification, compliance, and evaluation.
    • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
    • Participates in on-going quality improvement processes.
    • Perform operational tests on a wide variety of complex electronic assemblies using schematics, wiring diagrams, test specifications and standard test procedures.
    • Sets up and operate a variety of test stations consisting of standard test equipment such as pulse generators, amplifiers, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, counters etc.
       
    Qualifications and Experience:

     
    • Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, related field or equivalent education, certification and experience within the specific discipline.
    • Demonstrated proficiency at the level of Technician I.
    • 2-3 years testing and troubleshooting complex electronic assemblies.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with electro-mechanical assemblies.
    • Familiarity with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within digital/analog circuit theory.
    • Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills at all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to work on cross functional teams.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and solve semi-complex electrical/mechanical failures to component level.
    • Ability to use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.


    Working Conditions:
     
    • Required to use motor skills (i.e., finger dexterity for computer entry) most of a normal workday.
    • May be required to lift or move objects weighing more than 30 pounds as part of a normal workday.
    • May be exposed to occupational and environmental risks (i.e., back injuries, cuts, burns, noise, odors etc.) as part of a normal workday.
    • Controlled manufacturing environment.
    • 9/80 work schedule:  every other Friday off.
