Nuclear Medicine Technician provides diagnostic aid to physicians by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosages in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technician observes patients during procedures and reports any abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technician typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Requires registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology certification Board, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.), or the American Society of Clinical Pathology. MSPCA-Angell Animal Medical center is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our growing Nuclear Medicine team. This position will work closely with the Diagnostic Imaging team to provide Angell clientele with the highest quality of patient care in our Nuclear Medicine Ward.
THE POSITION:
The technician in this role will adhere to the strict radiation safety practice, performing Nuclear Medicine scans and treatments as needed. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and inventory in the ward.
When not working in Nuclear Medicine the Nuclear Medicine Technician works in the Diagnostic Imaging department performing imaging studies and demonstrating quality control, proper patient handling and the ability to document patient information.
