Nursing Director Assistant - Nursing Home administers the nursing program in a nursing home in the absence of the Nursing Director. Oversees operations in order to maintain standards of patient care. Being a Nursing Director Assistant - Nursing Home advises management, patient care staff and administrators in matters related to nursing service. Assists in the establishment and implementation of policies and develops organizational structure and standards of performance. Job Responsibilities;
• Assist the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Services Department
• Assist in developing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care
• Plan, develop, direct, evaluate and coordinate staff development educational programs to include new hire orientation, staff in-services and on-the-job training
• Plan, develop, coordinate and direct the Infection Control Program
• Provide staffing coverage as requested to maintain appropriate staff ratios
• Share “on call” responsibility with DNS and other nurse managers
Requirements
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse license from the State of New Hampshire and be in good standing with the NH Board of Nursing
• Must have at least two years’ experience as a supervisor in a healthcare facility, preferably in a long-term care setting
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures that pertain to long-term care
• Must be CPR/BCLS and IV certified
