Job Summary and Qualifications

Responsibilities require knowledge of hospital and nursing policies and procedures, allowing independent judgment in their interpretation. The Nursing Supervisor duties include provision of managerial and clinical links between the nurse manager and department direction in their absence, and the administrator-on-call. Additionally, this position will include knowledge of Utilization Review rules and regulations as they assist physicians and staff in assigning admission status. Determines staffing requirements and material resources necessary to provide care to the patients on the program.

What you will be doing:

• Directs and redirects team assignments as needed throughout shift.
• Assist new employees, assigned employees, and cross training employees toward their orientation goals.
• Serve as a resource to staff for solving clinical problems.
• Assist staff to efficiently utilize staffing resources to meet patient care requirements and other professional responsibilities.
• Act as a resource in identifying and/or solving administrative/operational problems
• Anticipate actual/potential problems that may occur on their shift and sets shift priorities accordingly.
• Work collaboratively with nursing and ancillary staff to solve problems in a fair, consistent manner.
• Give ongoing timely feedback to staff on performance.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing, BSN preferred.
• Licensed by the state of South Carolina as an RN or Compact Licensure.
• Experience in behavioral health strongly preferred.
• 1 year of supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• CPI required within 30 days of employment.
• BLS required within 90 days of employment.
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.

Live Oak Mental Health and Wellness Center, is a part of Trident Health. We give inpatient stabilization treatment to patients who seek treatment for acute psychiatric symptoms which cannot be addressed on an outpatient basis. Common disorders of patients treated in this program include but are not limited to: major depressive disorder, schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, impulse control disorder and a variety of co-morbid personality disorders. Our patient population is both adult and adolescent. We offer 24 hour availability of a full range of services. We have the capability to institute rapid lifesaving interventions. Our physician availability is 24 hours a day to institute needed modification to the treatment plan. Psychiatrist involved in the direction and management of the treatment program. Round the clock skilled nursing care implementing the treatment plan and providing monitoring and assessment of the patient's condition and response to treatment.
