The following vacancy exists in Goshen Community Schools for the 2021-22 school year:

Assistant Director of School Nutrition Services

POSITION PURPOSE: To assist in the administration and oversight of all aspects of foodservice in all schools or sites and in administering the school meal program in accordance to local, state and federal policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assists in processing and verifying free and reduced applications
• Assists in implementing and maintaining local, state and federal guidelines pertaining to the Child
• Nutrition Programs
• Assists in supervising and training all food service employees in HACCP procedures, sanitation
  guidelines, menu planning, and other state regulated procedures.
• Works with the Finance Department in creating and maintaining budgets and ensures the Prepaid Food
  Account is reconciled and meets SBOA audit requirements
• Monitors food production, inventory, ordering communication with vendors.
• Ensures the preparation on of accurate production records that include standards for quantity, quality
  and nutrition for food prepared and served.
• Organizes and plans food service manager meetings and training workshops.
• Works with individual employees on work simplification, establishing a daily routine and cross training
  in other areas to streamline operations.
• Assists with recipe tasting, product sampling and upkeep of food service recipe binders. All recipes
  must be HACCP compliant and allergen specific.
• Provides labor coverage at schools when necessary.
• Assist in managing and organizing summer foods.
• Other Duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree with: Academic major or concentration in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field. (USDA requirement, no exceptions)
• Valid Driver’s license with clean driving record

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Knowledge of federal and state laws, rules and regulations, and policies governing child nutrition programs.
• ServSafe Certified

WORK CALENDAR:  52 weeks per year; 40 hours per week

SALARY: Wages and benefits are according to Board-approved rates and Classified Handbook.
