Occupancy Specialist assists residents or applicants of housing programs with the goal of achieving maximum residency. Assesses eligibility and collects required information, such as income. Being an Occupancy Specialist provides information/customer service and maintains records. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Occupancy Specialist typically reports to a manager. Typically requires certification as an Occupancy Specialist (COS). The Occupancy Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Imagineers, LLC is a diverse Property Management company located in Hartford, CT. Our Housing Program Management Division, which administers rental payment programs for various communities in CT, is seeking qualified applicants for the Occupancy Specialist position. The position routinely interviews clients, performs eligibility determinations, preps contracts and lease agreements, maintains an accurate record keeping system and effectively provides assistance between landlords and tenants. Candidate will maintain a caseload of ongoing eligibility certifications. Candidate is also responsible for day-to-day program functions.
Candidates must have at least two years of undergraduate course work (bachelor's degree preferred). Two years' experience in public housing, Section 8, counseling, case management, apartment management, eligibility and/or social work, or equivalent combinations of education and experience. Candidate must have strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and computer skills. Bilingual in English / Spanish is preferred.
