Oil and Gas Field Supervisor jobs in Columbia, SC

Oil and Gas Field Supervisor supervises field staff that maintains and services oil and gas production facilities. Oversees testing and monitoring of wells, pumps, storage facilities and other equipment. Being an Oil and Gas Field Supervisor is responsible for safety of staff and production facilities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Oil and Gas Field Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Oil and Gas Field Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions.     Accountable for managing contract production crews up to six to seven crews, within budgeted job hours. Accountable for safety, minimizing days lost due to accidents and equipment/tool loss and damage and property damage.

     

    Position Overview

    The Field Supervisor is an experienced professional directing the activities of their crews. He/she assures that team resources are used efficiently, personnel are adequately developed, and client needs and expectations are being met.

     

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Managing daily labor schedules.
    • Managing morning load-up to ensure that all vehicles are in safe operating order, loaded with the proper tools/equipment, and work ticket/issues are properly assigned for each crew.
    • Communicating with crew leads specific site needs not listed on work tickets or issues as communicated by account managers.
    • Responsible for monitoring work processes and quality of crews via onsite visits and audits.
    • Responsible for proper training in the operation of equipment/tools.
    • Responsible for addressing and minimizing equipment emergencies and break-downs in the field, and completing appropriate paperwork.
    • Responsible for addressing and minimizing accidents and incidents related to staff and customer property, and completing appropriate paperwork.
    • Managing the afternoon shut down of crews and equipment in the yard.
    • Communicating and documenting to the operations manager and mechanics any repair and replacement requirements on equipment/tools.
    • Responsible for reviewing, calculating, and approving time sheets and work tickets.
    • Responsible for preparing for and managing material and equipment needs for the following day and assuring readiness.
    • Responsible for tracking documentation of materials used on jobs.
    • Responsible for proper use and enforcement of PPE.
    • Responsible for the condition of vehicles, equipment, and tools per company policy.
    • Document jobs that are underbid directly to the operations manager; not to sales.
    • Plan, schedule, and supervise daily activities for crews. Assists employees as necessary to meet production schedules. Confer with operations manager to coordinate shared equipment.
    • Monitor department activities to ensure that instructions are followed, deadlines are met, and schedules are maintained by inspecting properties and crews.
    • Enforce operating procedures and work processes that ensure performance and personnel safety standards.
    • Review daily time sheets and other management reports, take action or make recommendations to correct variances outside expected results.
    • Train employees in proper landscape, maintenance, and basic irrigation techniques and department equipment operation and maintenance.
    • Monitor performance and conduct periodic performance evaluations for employees; document all personnel actions (disciplinary action, performance evaluations, wage changes, employee classifications, etc.).
    • Follow all federal, state, and local laws (Locator- OSHA, etc.)
    • Assist with implementation of the safety program enforcing safe work behavior and maintaining safe work sites.
    • Assist human resources by insuring employees follow all company policies and procedures.
    • Perform all required administrative paperwork timely, accurately, and legibly.
    • Maintain a professional appearance by wearing proper uniform.
    • Arrive to work at scheduled time.
    • Assist with ice & snow removal operations if needed.
    • Assist with other duties as needed.
