Job Summary

The OR Charge Nurse/Control Desk-Clinical Operations is a registered Nurse professional nurse responsible for the coordination of the Operating Room schedule for a designated shift. In this role the charge nurse, directs, and enhances the operating room activities to maintain an efficient operating room schedule with minimal delays. The Charge Nurse work collaboratively with the anesthesia department, surgeons, staff, ancillary departments, and the OR Manager/Director.

Job Responsibilities:

• Keeps surgeons, anesthesia, pre-op holding, PACU, etc. informed of any schedule changes-cancellations, move-ups or delays.
• Treats customer's property and Grady Memorial's property with care and respect; uses resources wisely.
• Follows chain of command in communicating needs, issues, and crisis.
• Demonstrates sensitivity to any real or perceived inconvenience, delay or wait experience by patients and customers and notifies Nurse Manager immediately of any concerns.
• Listen to customer concerns and respond in a respectful and tactful manner.

Job Qualifications

Required Education:

• Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
