Summary
The Operations Research Analyst works under the guidance of the Training Advisor. The Operations Research Analyst role holds significant importance in the acquisition, analysis, and training of SIGINT for our organization. Primary objective is to provide crucial support to the training team, management, and leadership by delivering insightful and unbiased information to facilitate decision-making related to training, business strategies, and policy development. Additionally, the Operations Research Analyst will actively engage in research and development (R&D) initiatives, with the opportunity to evaluate and incorporate cutting-edge technologies into DST training programs. While DST's cope encompasses all facets of SIGINT, its primary focus centers on Electronic Intelligence (ELINT), particularly Technical ELINT. This includes the capability to identify radars based on their external parameters and determine
radar types through available analysis options.
Essential Functions
- Technical Analysis: Proficiency in utilizing Technical ELINT analysis tools to distinguish various radar types and ascertain their specific parameters.
- Technical Data Gathering: Collect relevant technical data from various sources within the organization, including research studies, testing results, performance metrics, and other pertinent information.
- Data Analysis: Applying analytical techniques to analyze gathered technical data. Your analysis will involve identifying patterns, trends, and relationships to extract valuable insights.
- Decision Support: Analysis and insights will play a vital role in supporting the training team, management, and leadership in making informed decisions. By providing objective information and recommendations based on your findings, you will contribute to the development of effective training programs, business strategies, and policies.
- Research and Development: Actively engage in research and development initiatives, exploring new ideas and technologies that can enhance the organization's training programs. This may involve conducting experiments, studying industry trends, and evaluating emerging technologies.
- Technology Testing: Responsible for testing the latest technologies relevant to the training programs. By assessing their effectiveness, feasibility, and impact on training outcomes, you will help determine their suitability for incorporation into the organization's training initiatives.
- Collaboration: Collaboration with the training team, subject matter experts, and stakeholders will be essential. By working closely with these individuals, you can gather insights, validate findings, and ensure that your research aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Reporting and Presentation: Prepare reports and presentations to communicate your research findings, analysis, and recommendations. These reports will serve as a valuable resource for the training team, management, and leadership in understanding the implications of the research and the potential impact on training programs.
- Continuous Learning: Staying updated with the latest advancements in technology and industry trends will be crucial for your role. Actively pursuing continuous learning opportunities will enable you to enhance your knowledge and skills, keeping you at the forefront of research and development in the field of training.
- Support for local unit requested flights: Support local unit requested flights by providing subject matter expertise, hardware, software, and installation assistance as needed.
- Development of solutions for technical problems: Develop solutions to known technical problems using current and emerging technologies to meet client mission requirements.
- Production of technical products: Produce various technical products, including capability matrices, gap analysis, technical reports, test reports, analysis of alternatives, and others to support the client's needs.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch. However, evening and weekend shifts may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel may be required as requested by the customer. Traveling includes overnight stays and outside of normal working locations.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field.
- 6 years of Technical ELINT experience.
- SIGINT/EW experience in a SOF environment.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Prior related experience preferred.
- Understanding of EW, SIGINT, HUMINT, and Cyber disciplines.
- Veteran.
Other Hiring Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Must hold or be able to obtain a DOD Top Secret/SCI level clearance.
- Must be able to obtain a passport.
- Must pass a DOT/FAA-regulated drug screening.
- Must be able to pass an FAA Class 3 flight physical.
