Organizational Development Director directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate organizational development programs, policies, and procedures. Approves change management initiatives and suggests enhancements to existing programs. Being an Organizational Development Director oversees the development of programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Reviews key performance metrics to enable accurate and valid measurement of workforce performance and to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Director proposes changes to organizational structure to leverage talent and provide development opportunities to key leaders in the organization. Develops systematic collection and evaluation of performance metrics. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Organizational Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Organizational Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Overview

     

    The Organizational Development Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall effectiveness and efficiency of an organization by implementing strategic initiatives and programs that promote employee development, engagement, and organizational growth. This position requires a deep understanding of organizational behavior, change management, and talent development to drive positive change within the company. This position is responsible for the administration of the life cycle of an employee in the company, from recruitment to the last day of work.

     

    Essential Functions

    1.      Organizational Development Strategy:

    ·         Develop and implement an organizational development strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.

    ·         Identify and prioritize areas of improvement and innovation within the organization.

    2.      Talent Management:

    ·         Be sure that the company has solid competencies set that is fully understood by all employees on each level.

    ·         Develop and implement talent management programs, including succession planning, talent acquisition, and performance management.

    ·         Design and execute strategies to assess talent and potential on current employees to identify high performers and high potential employees.

    ·         Coach high potential employees to have development plans.

    ·         Design and provide proper tools to close gaps on high potential employees.

    ·         Design and execute strategies to attract and retain and develop top talent within the organization.

    3.      Talent Acquisition:

    ·         Define and evaluate constantly the recruitment sources. Including social media and new sources.

    ·         Manage the intern and summer programs.

    ·         Evaluate the attendance at job fairs and maintain networking with mining associations.

    ·         Maintain constant communication with internal customers to receive and provide feedback.

    4.      Employee engagement:

    ·         Create and execute programs to enhance employee engagement, motivation, and satisfaction.

    ·         Conduct employee surveys and/or facilitate the implementation of the ECHO (corporate survey), feedback sessions, and assessments to gauge the organization’s culture and employee sentiment.

    5.      Change Management:

    ·         Lead change initiatives by developing change management plans and communication strategies.

    ·         Support leadership in managing resistance to change and facilitating smooth transition.

    ·         Identify and train change agents. Follow with them, gather information of the employee’s feeling, and make necessary adjustments.

    ·         Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.

    6.      Leadership Development:

    ·         Identify leadership development needs within the organization and design leadership training programs.

    ·         Find competitive and knowledgeable vendors that can help close gaps in this skill.

    ·         Coach and mentor leaders to enhance their leadership skills and capabilities.

    7.      Learning and Development:

    ·         Analize any performance information available to determine and create the training tools needed to be provided to close current gaps in the general population.

    ·         Develop and execute training needed to guarantee successful change management, performance management or any other HR process.

    ·         Oversee the design, development, and delivery of training programs for employees at all levels.

    ·         Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make continuous improvements.

    ·         Administer companies training programs like apprenticeship, or any technical training programs.

    8.      Performance Management:

    ·         Implement and improve performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and performance reviews.

    ·         Collaborate with the HR Sites and General Managers to ensure fair and consistent performance evaluations.

    9.      Data Analysis and Reporting:

    ·         Collect and analyze HR and organizational data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

    ·         Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

    ·         Conduct constant benchmarking to ensure that the company has the best practices in place.

    Qualifications:

     

    ·         Bachelor’s degree in human resources. Organizational Development, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).

    ·         Proven experience in organizational development, talent management, and change management.

    ·         Strong knowledge of organizational behavior, learning theory, and human resources practices.

    ·         Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.

    ·         Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

    ·         Project management skills to oversee the implementation of development initiatives.

    ·         Proficiency in HR software and data analysis tools.

     

    Preferred Requirements

     

    ·         Bilingual English/Spanish
