    We are a State approved Testing Lab, focused on the Cannabis industry.

    The Scientific Lab Director is responsible for the entire science aspect of the Lab. Ensuring the adherence to various laboratory procedures, following appropriate and creating Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”), and company/lab rules and protocols.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensure testing systems in the laboratory provide quality services in all aspects of test performance, i.e., the pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases of testing and are appropriate for the patient population
    • Ensure that the physical and environmental conditions of the laboratory are adequate and appropriate for the testing performed
    • Ensure new test procedures are reviewed, included in the procedure manual and followed by personnel
    • Ensure that data generated by the scientific team meet quality control requirements
    • Ensure and oversee regulatory compliance, including safety, environmental, and documentation requirements of methodology, validation, etc...
    • Help Quality Assurance team to implement new technologies and methodologies that help to improve laboratory workflow and data quality
    • Represent the Lab to regulatory bodies etc...
    • Communicate regulatory and scientific developments to sales force and customers
    • Manage and establish methods for the testing of cannabis for contaminants (residual solvents, pesticides, heavy metals, etc.) and potency
    • Optimization of chemical assays and general workflow improvements
    • Maintain an awareness of the literature and other sources of information to remain current with developments in the area of functional products of interest to the Lab
    • Develops, authors and reviews technical documents and reports
    • Facilitate and monitor effectiveness of training on company policies and procedures
    • Approves controlled laboratory documentation
    • Oversees quality control data
    • Oversees supplies and orders
    • Maintains ISO accreditation and compliance with ISO Standard 17025 and other applicable accreditation bodies
    • Performs periodic internal audits, including both technical and quality systems and direct any necessary corrective action notifying management of deficiencies or opportunities for improvement
    • Maintains chemical/equipment traceability records and generating control charts.
    • Maintains training records for lab staff

    Qualifications, Expertise, and Experience:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological sciences from an accredited college or university
    • Deep understanding of analytical techniques with hands-on experience in method development leading to the creation of SOPs, LIMS interface and basic chemistry techniques (e.g. HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS)
    • Working with Agilent instruments
    • Statistical analysis skills, organizational skills, and a good concept of quantification, accuracy, and variation
    • Experience with independent review processes, and maintaining laboratory compliance under state and local regulatory bodies
    • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite environment
    • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
