Invio Automation’s Solutions division specializes in single station robotic cells, multi-station fabrication & assembly lines, bonding & welding technologies, vision systems, and packaging process. Application capabilities within our Solutions division include thermal bonding, web handling, force plotting, heat staking, high viscosity pumps, precision dispensing, impulse bag sealing, and needle bending. Invio Automation’s Technologies division includes highly differentiated Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) for heavyweight applications, turnkey assembly lines, welding automation, and custom lift-assist & secure tools for safety critical applications.
DESCRIPTION
This Director position has the primary focus of growing sales with new and existing medical device and life science (“healthcare”) customers in the Northeast U.S. and beyond. Invio Automation has identified growth with healthcare customers as a top business development priority. In addition to an expectation for direct sales contribution, there’s a significant opportunity to grow into a broader leadership role within our Automation Solutions division. A passion for recruiting, training, and leading a sales team and strategy is essential to the role.
The Director of Business Development position is tasked with the creative and challenging responsibility of initiating and maintaining relationships within a Fortune 500 customer base to identify, consult, and ultimately execute large automation projects. The work is diverse and offers an opportunity to combine technologies across Invio Automation’s entire suite of Industry 4.0 solutions. Typically, most of the work week is spent at factories engaging with existing and potential customers. The remainder of the work week is spent collaborating with Invio Automation’s in-house design team, subject-matter experts, and estimating teams on proposals, product development roadmaps, and other strategic initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- At least eight years prior experience selling automation solutions to healthcare customers
- A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and at a technical level with in-house resources in an effort to create creative and margin-optimal customer proposals
- Transition and take ownership of long-standing and valued customer relationships at our Hudson, NH site
- Engage in a consultative sales approach that often involves R&D, proof of principles, engineering studies, and pilot lines
- Lead the expansion and promotion of offerings into adjacent areas including long term service contracts, connected factory dashboards, and spare part programs
- In addition to individual sales contribution, define and implement best practices for existing and future sales leaders

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be professional, proactive, and positive. Having a passion for exceptional customer service and support is a must. Being sensitive to the unpredictable demands and uncertainties associated with human resources is a requisite to delivering superior results and exceeding the expectations of our internal and external customers.
