Organizational Development Manager manages all aspects of organizational development. Oversees the development of training programs, facilitation of change management initiatives, and review of current development programs to ensure linkage to company goals. Being an Organizational Development Manager develops programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Facilitates the development and implementation of employee performance measurements to gauge the success of programs and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Manager assesses leadership development, team development, and organizational communication programs and practices. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Organizational Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Organizational Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Scientific Program Manager (Organizational Development)

  • Position Objective: Provide services as a Scientific Program Manager (Organizational Development) in support of the overall functions of the Office of the Director (OD), Office of Science Management and Operations (OSMO) within the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

     

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide Strategic Organizational Development, Design and Management Consulting services to the NIAID Deputy Director for Science Management.
    • Provide organizational design, reorganization implementation, process reengineering, stakeholder management, social network analysis assistance and coordination, meeting facilitation and coordination, and overall project management; provide assistance on matters or emergent need that require OD and management consulting.
    • Provide assistance to the Office of Ethics Review Team to include process, people and technology reviews and implementation to include recommendation on interventions.
    • Provide assistance to the Ethics Competencies project.
    • Provide Initiative Development Taskforce, ID coordination meeting, ID agenda setting meetings, processes such as the RIC process and ID change order process.
    • OSMO OD Office Heads Meetings coordination to include agenda, rotations, and follow up actions and notes.
    • OSMO efficiency, effectiveness and cost savings initiatives coordination.
    • Resource Planning and Evaluation Group; Risk Management Group; Science, Business and Integration Group.
    • Provide e-Spa - coordination of agenda and note preparation and logistics.
    • Work on the DAIDS OD Transition and Implementation to include OPCRO intervention assistance.
    • Assist with the SPEB strategic planning and retreat - follow-up and implementation.
    • Assist with the DAIT Organization Assessment and Implementation.

     

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Minimum of a B.S. degree required.
    • Minimum of nine (9) years of related experience.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of broad range of scientific and technical areas.
    • Demonstrates strong managerial experience.
    • Demonstrates expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).

     

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with non-technical and technical staff.
    • Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
