Organizational Psychologist studies and assesses the organizations workforce, management, culture, business objectives, and challenges using psychological principles and research methods. Designs and develops programs and tools that will be appropriate for the needs of the organization and which will assist employees and management to better achieve desired goals. Being an Organizational Psychologist utilizes various methods including employee surveys, focus groups, skill assessments, performance appraisals, and other feedback mechanisms to assist management in identifying issues and driving improvements. Creates solutions and programs that may be focused on employee selection, job training, leadership training, workplace and family issues, and change management. Additionally, Organizational Psychologist requires a master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Organizational Psychologist works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.     About the Role

    In anticipation of a contract award, COE is seeking an IO Psychologist/Workforce Planner to provide consultation to our federal client with data driven strategic workforce planning human resource solutions including HR strategy, learning, and workforce development. This position will be mainly remote with occasional travel, as necessary, to client’s site in the Washington DC/Baltimore Metropolitan area.

    Responsibilities

    The candidate should apply with proven experience to execute the following:

    • Assess organizations workforce, management, culture, business objectives, and challenges using data driven research.
    • Conduct facilitated sessions, interviews, focus groups and collect data related to gaps in skills, talent supply and demand, and trends in the composition of the current workforce.
    • Analyze data collected and identify key workforce challenges and needed focus areas, necessary skills and competencies for staff and leadership.
    • Evaluate findings against industry best practices and trends.
    • Conduct competency assessments and gap analyses.
    • Create solutions and programs focused on training, workplace issues, and change management.
    • Conduct skill assessments, employee surveys, and other feedback mechanisms to assist management in identifying issues and driving improvements.

    Experience and Skills:
    • Must have prior experience working with the federal government. Candidates without federal government experience will not be considered.
    • Master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology or a directly related field with three (3) plus years of work experience.
    • Experience in, and deep knowledge, of strategic workforce planning and organizational psychology.
    • Experience with complex technical and business matters.
    • History of collecting and reviewing human capital documentation, workforce data, and industry trends.
    • History of working with a large organization.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • History of ethical and value-based performance.
    • US citizenship is required.
    • Ability to obtain, or already holds, an active Public Trust clearance.
    • Willing to work in a hybrid environment as described above.
