Orthopedic Technician applies and adjusts plaster casts and assembles and attaches orthopedic traction equipment and devices as directed by a physician. Sets up bed traction units or rigs special devices as required, and inspects and adjusts bandages and equipment. Being an Orthopedic Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent, completion of Orthopedic Technician training and certification program. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Bridger Orthopedic has an immediate opening for an Orthopedic Patient Coordinator in our Urgent Care. We are looking for a 30 hour per week member who is forward thinking, highly motivated reliable and pays close attention to detail.
Position Requirements:
· High School Diploma required
· RMA or CNA certification preferred
· At least two years of previous healthcare experience required
· Orthopedic experience preferred.

Job Responsibilities include:
· Assists providers while seeing patient’s in office to include preparation of exam rooms, bracing, preparing injections and removing casts when applicable.
· Escorts patients to exam rooms, gather, document and confirm intake information in the patient’s chart.
· Schedule patient appointments and obtain additional information as related to appointment.
· Schedule outside testing or referrals to include physical therapy, radiologic exams, EMG studies, injections, and laboratory tests
· Manages changes to provider schedules. Collaborates with provider and support team to coordinate and incorporate emergency surgery and provider initiated cancellations.
· Schedule/reschedule appointments as required.
· Provides and reviews appropriate instructions to patient as indicated in the patient plan.
· Answer phone calls in a prompt courteous and efficient manner.
· Respond to patient phone calls in an efficient manner.
· Chart preparation for upcoming clinics.
· Maintains courteous and effective communication with associates, coworkers and patients.
· Participates in and completes Mandatory Education.
· Participates in department and/or interdepartmental improvement activities.
· Maintains strict compliance to patient confidentiality and HIPPA policy.
· Other duties as assigned.
Specific skills, knowledge and abilities required
· Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required to communicate with patients, family members, physicians and other health care providers.
· Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD 10 codes.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and basic office equipment such as scanners, copiers, fax machine and multi-line phone system.
· Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skill to ensure patient’s and surgeon’s needs are met.
· Must have the excellent time management skills, attention to detail while working independently with minimal supervision.
· Occasionally an adjusted work schedule is required to accommodate company needs.
