Outpatient Clinic Manager manages the day-to-day operations of an outpatient clinic/care center. Responsible for ensuring that high quality patient care is given and that there is economical and efficient performance. Being an Outpatient Clinic Manager monitors patient volumes, quality of care, and performance of staff to identify areas for improvement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Outpatient Clinic Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Outpatient Clinic Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Outpatient Clinic Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Veterinary Assistant

    The Veterinary Assistant provides support to the veterinary nurses throughout the examination, diagnosis, and treatment phases. They aid the veterinary nurses in achieving greater efficiency by assisting with laboratory diagnostics, patient care and/or restraint, inventory, and facility maintenance.


    EDUCATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Experience with animal care and handling preferred.
    • Experience with facility maintenance preferred.

    PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

    The receptionist must be able to:

    • Be flexible in attitude and work habits.
    • Quickly learn how to pronounce, know the meaning of and spell commonly used veterinary terms.
    • Perform basic computer skills.
    • Physical Effort: Work requires lifting and carrying patients and/or objects up to 60 lbs without assistance, standing and/or walking for extended periods of time, bending/crouching, and/or lifting objects above their head.
    • Working conditions: May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases.

    PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

    • Check, swap, and fold laundry.
    • Restock and clean exam rooms.
    • Restock and clean treatment.
    • Restock and clean pharmacy.
    • Clean and sterilize all cages.
    • Clean and sterilize surgery suite and dental.
    • Wash, dry, and put away dishes in the sink.
    • Collect trash/recycling.
    • Confidently assist with patient restraint.
    • Confidently care for patients, ensuring they have water, are taken out on walks, and have clean cages.
    • Confidently express anal glands.
    • Confidently perform a nail trim on any patient.
    • Perform an ear cleaning.
    • Confidently complete nurse appointment notes.
    • Confidently collect a urine/fecal sample, labeling the tubes and placing in lab appropriately.
    • Set up, perform, and read diagnostic tests.
    • Schedule appointments in cornerstone.
    • Assess patient charts in cornerstone to determine next steps.
    • Know and understand appropriate time frame between each injection (Cytopoint, Librela, etc)
    • Perform laser treatments as required.
