Responsible for ensuring that high quality patient care is given and that there is economical and efficient performance. Being an Outpatient Clinic Manager monitors patient volumes, quality of care, and performance of staff to identify areas for improvement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Outpatient Clinic Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Outpatient Clinic Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Outpatient Clinic Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Position Summary:
The Outpatient Clinics manager is responsible for leading the daily and administrative functions in an ambulatory setting. The position is instrumental in defining the goals, budget needs, and performance standards for the clinic and communicating them to staff. The manager must work effectively with providers, patients, and interdepartmental leaders and demonstrate sound judgement, problem solving, and decision making using supportive information and evidence-based care.
