Description

Robert Half has an exciting opportunity for an AV Technician who is highly capable of solving complex technical issues and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical users in an understandable way. This role may be for you if you are a self-starter and a problem solver who enjoys working in a positive, dynamic environment. As the AV Technician, you will work in the Kansas City, Missouri, region. This role is a long-term contract / contract-to-hire opportunity.

• AV technicians are the behind-the-scenes heroes of many events. Their work is often invisible, but it's essential for the success of presentations, conferences, and other gatherings.
• They need to have a good understanding of different AV technologies and how they work together.
• They also need to be problem-solvers, able to troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during an event.
• Sets up and operates audio, video, and lighting equipment for events.
• Assembles microphones, mixes sound boards, coordinates graphics, operates spotlights, manages video recordings with live streaming, and provides AV technical support.
• Speaker installation - Ceiling mounting
• Monitor installation - Wall mounting.
• Live Streaming Events
• Assist with sign language interpretation - set up.
• ADA Compliant Set up.

Requirements

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• 2-3 years of experience in the AV field or a related technical field

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in operating and troubleshooting a wide range of AV equipment and systems (projectors, soundboards, microphones, etc.)
• Experience with advanced AV technologies like video conferencing systems, digital signage, and streaming media

Communication Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication

Soft Skills:

• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Quick learner
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to handle multiple incidents simultaneously
• Adaptability to constantly changing requirements
• Strong organizational skills

Additional Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of engineering and construction fundamentals and operations.
