Job Summary:
The Director of Nursing (DON) is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing the nursing operations within the agency. This role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, compliance with regulatory standards, and effective collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
The main responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Leadership and Administration:
- Provide strategic leadership for the nursing team, ensuring a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations and industry best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality assurance.
- Patient Care Management:
- Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to create individualized care plans for patients.
- Monitor and ensure the delivery of high-quality and compassionate care.
- Staff Management and Development:
- Recruit, train, and supervise nursing staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and home health aides.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Facilitate ongoing professional development and training programs.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Stay informed about changes in healthcare laws and regulations, updating policies and procedures accordingly.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
- Quality Assurance and Improvement:
- Establish and monitor quality indicators to assess and improve the overall quality of care.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives based on data analysis and feedback.
- Address and resolve any identified issues promptly.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and develop care plans.
- Budget Management:
- Assist in developing and managing the nursing department budget.
- Monitor and control expenditures to ensure financial goals are met.
- Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Address and resolve any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred, but not required.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within home healthcare.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in Las Vegas.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Effective organizational and time-management skills.

Pay: $94,990.05 - $114,396.63 per year
