Patient Safety Manager manages a staff responsible for developing and implementing patient safety programs. Supervises the investigation of errors and then plans for resolution of all safety related incidents, including those involving employees, visitors, patients, and situations posing a threat to the hospital's buildings and equipment. Being a Patient Safety Manager maintains records of patient-related errors and evaluates this information in order to identify the cause of the error. Collects, reviews, and analyzes information from the facility's safety programs to identify corrective action and programs as necessary. Additionally, Patient Safety Manager recommends changes, policies, or programs that could prevent future errors. Designs and presents training programs meant to increase awareness of patient safety initiatives. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Patient Safety Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Patient Safety Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Responsibilities

    We are looking for a Safety Manager skilled in Mechanical Construction or General Contracting to take on a lead role in Fort Stewart, GA to start. This opportunity can consist of travel depending on project needs.

    • Tours and inspects small or large, complex job sites to ensure compliance with company, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
    • Reports concerns to safety management.
    • Ensures Enforcement of OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
    • Documents safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures.
    • Provides recommendations for correcting non-compliance issues.
    • Ensures cited issues are corrected within designated timeframe.
    • Maintains all site required documentation related to safety issues, including accident reports, inspection reports and training logs.
    • Uses information to track trends and injury rates.
    • Develops current and future loss control strategies and implements corrective actions to prevent similar incidents.
    • Provides emergency response to employees as needed.
    • Participates in and documents information for the investigation of accidents and injuries and submits data to regulatory agencies as required.
    • Contributes to updating training materials and coordinates and facilitates employee training as necessary.
    • Directs the workflow of less-experience safety employees
    • Exercises independent judgement with respect to disciplinary actions for safety violations and implementing procedures to correct similar future violations.
    • Consults with manager on decisions that significantly impact the company.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health or Environmental Applied Sciences or related discipline preferred.
    • 7-10 years’ experience in related field, including employee training experience.
    • Experience in safety management in the semi-conductor industry strongly preferred
    • Certifications in CPR and First Aid preferred.
    • EM-385 NEEDED
    • OSHA 10hr, OSHA 30hr, OSHA 40hr training preferred.
    • OSHA 500, CHST or ASP certifications preferred.
    • Excellent working knowledge of health and safety management systems; OSHA CFR 1926 standards or the state construction safety regulations.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent customer-service and organizational skills.
    • Excellent project management skills.
    • Excellent computer skills-experience with Microsoft Office suite and ability to access OSHA information via the internet.
    • Ability to lead employees.

    Work Environment

    • This position will be on site 5 days a week
    • Project site can start as early as 6AM to 4PM
