Payment Recovery Specialist jobs in California

Payment Recovery Specialist is responsible for analysis of denied reimbursement claims. Ensures appropriate insurance coverage for compliance standards and revenue generation.     RECOVERY SPECIALIST

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Admit residents into residential treatment.
    • Take Urine Analysis (UA); perform proper storage of the sample; accurately complete information on the appropriate UA form; assure proper transferring of UA sample to the appropriate testing authority.
    • Keep current progress notes and log vital signs in each resident's file.
    • Conducting urine screens, self-medications management, protocols and the secure search/storage of personal property.
    • Minimum 30-minute interactions and observations of each residents during at least the first 72 hours after admission. Interaction is always happening whether it's during admissions, resident self-medication, or sharing meals. A primary responsibility of the Recovery Specialist is to observe and connect with who our residents really are. You are the front line and who we learn the most about the residents from.
    • The security of our residents, staff and facility is of utmost importance. All Recovery Specialist are required to do brief walkthroughs of every part of the facility to help maintain a solid presence of staff awareness of resident behavior.
    • Recovery Specialist will address facility cleanliness due to potential resident illnesses.
    • Oversee and inspect residential resident housekeeping duties and resident cleaning detail. Enforce cleanliness standards by requesting residents to redo work when necessary, report non-compliance to Supervisor by submitting a written incident report.
    • Responsible for monitoring use of all hazardous materials used in the facility. Responsible for distribution, inventory control and maintenance of stringent security controls of all hazardous materials used by the program.
    • Conduct weekly, unannounced searches on all resident residential quarters, all non- residential areas within both facilities, building and on all outside grounds. Document searches on the appropriate form.
    • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all locations throughout the facility. Restock and sweep.
    • Occasionally assists with meal duties related to shift, including: a) Awaken residents for breakfast. b) Assist with meal delivery or clean up. c) Store and label leftovers properly and in compliance with standard health requirements. d) Clean up after the evening meal, and inspect the kitchen area for cleanliness.
    • Oversee residents' recreational activities, transport residents to clinic appointments and other functions as requested by supervisor.
    • Maintain detailed notes of all incidents occurring during the assigned shift and submit to Supervisor by the end of the same shift.
    • Attend and participate in in-service training and other training as directed by the Supervisor.
    • Must maintain current, required certifications such as CPR, 1st Aid, Food Handlers, TB Test.
    • Complete orientation process for new admissions
    • Check perimeter of house and drive way: Pick up trash and straighten up. Check vehicle gas levels and cleanliness. Take vehicle to car wash if necessary.
    • Cleaning duties such as windows and window sills. Dust around the house and water plants. Check bathroom and restock toilet paper and paper towels.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED preferred.
    • With at least 0 - 6 months of work experience performing duties that involved shift work; previous experience and training working with recovering substance abusers strongly preferred.
    • Must have demonstrated ability and prior experience working with minimum supervision and high levels of responsibility in highly stressful situations.
    • With TB test results.
    • Be registered to obtain certification as an AOD counselor with one of the certifying organizations approved by DHCS or be certified or licensed in compliance with California law to provide Alcohol and Drug counseling in pursuant of Section 13010, Title 9, Division 4, Chapter 8, Subchapter 2, California Code of Regulations. 30% of counseling staff shall be certified or licensed.
    • Must be available to work weekends, nights, midnight shifts, irregular shifts and holidays.
    • Because intensive interaction with substances abusers in the early stages of their recovery can trigger relapses and emotional setbacks, recovering substance abusers must have at least two years of continuous sobriety and be actively participating in therapy. Must abide by the Alcohol & Drug Free policy.
    • Must have demonstrated ability to handle confidential information in an appropriate manner.
    • Valid California driver's license, provide evidence of vehicle insurance, and be insurable under the company's insurance policy.
    • Ability to work well with residents, associates and the public; work references will be required.
    • 1st aid /cpr certification.
    • RADT certification (valid for at least 6 months or willing to personally apply for renewal within the first 6 months of working)
    • with preference to applicants who are CADC-I or CADC-II certified
    • Able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced treatment environment
    • Pass health screen and criminal background check
    • Computer skills: email, Office 365
