Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system. Reviews the computation of pay and associated deductions for accuracy. Being a Payroll Administrator maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions. Prepares required tax filings and other reporting. Additionally, Payroll Administrator may coordinate payroll processing with an outside service provider. Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting. Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Payroll Administrator work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team. As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. This is a critical role within our organization, as you will play a key part in maintaining employee satisfaction and ensuring compliance with all payroll regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time
- Create employee job offer agreements
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits
- Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, leave, and overtime
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
- Handle employee HR matters (FMLA, Insurance, Grievances, etc)
- Prepare payroll reports for management as needed
- Process Certified Payroll reporting
- Order MVR (motor vehicle reports)reports for new hires
- Work with ADP payroll company to ensure year-end payroll activities such as W-2 preparation are completed in a timely manner
Skills:
- Proficient in 10-key typing
- Experience with payroll software such as ADP - Required (Min 2 years)
- Construction Industry payroll expereince required
- HR Generalist experience preferred
- Experience with processing Insurance administration
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
