com / jobs / 1128267The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing and managing WSWSUpayroll, calculating wages based on hours worked, assisting withAccounts Payable (AP) duties, and administering payments under thesupervision of the Assistant to the Business Manager / Business Managerand Superintendent.

The person in this position must havethe ability to read, analyze, and interpret payroll information,insurance / benefit forms, and state / federal tax information while alsocommunicating with a variety of people professionally both in writtenand oral form.

This role supports the employees of all districts. Thisperson must be able to multitask, meet deadlines, and communicate withother staff members.

• This person will collaborate with the BusinessOffice team. Core Responsibilities : Maintains payroll information bycollecting, calculating, and entering data;
• Prepares accounts payablerelated payroll or contracts for payment; Updates and maintains payrollrecords by entering changes, exemptions, insurance coverage, savingsdeductions, and job title and department / division transfers;
• Preparesreports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave,disability, and non-taxable wages; Determines payroll liabilities bycalculating employee federal and state income and social security taxesand employers social security, unemployment, and workers compensationpayments;
• Reports to State and Federal agencies information and paymentsregarding employee withholdings, taxes, and any / all other mattersregarding personnel and assists during audits;
• Resolves payrolldiscrepancies by collecting and analyzing information; Provides payrolloperations by following policies and procedures;

reporting neededchanges; Distributes all payroll; Performs special assignments / otherduties as determined by the Business Manager and Superintendent.

Commitment to support and uphold WSWSU policies, procedures, mission andstrategic plan. Qualifications : Any combination of education / experienceequivalent to graduation from an accredited college and / or businessschool, ideally with emphasis in Accounting, Mathematics / Statistics,Economics, or Business Administration;

or more than two (2) years ofprogressively responsible accounting / bookkeeping experience;Knowledge / experience of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite andability to create and maintain Excel / GSheets spreadsheets.
