Description

CraneWorks is seeking a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate and timely processing of our bi-weekly hourly and salary payroll, commissions, bonus plans, and monthly expense reimbursements. In addition to payroll duties the Payroll Specialist will have HR Generalist and administrative duties including assisting in scheduling background and pre-employment screenings, onboarding new employees, and annual benefits enrollment.

• Manage payroll functions including bi-weekly and monthly processing
• Manager timekeeping and fix processing errors
• Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files and documentation
• Understand company policies related to benefits and hiring practices
• Answers questions from applicants and employees
• Ensures compliance with local, state and federal employment tax requirements
• Processes court-ordered wage garnishment orders
• Refers more complex questions to senior-level HR staff
• Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
• Performs periodic audits of HR files and records
• Ensures all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
• Provides administrative support
• Conducts or assists with new hire orientation
• Assists with benefits enrollment
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

• Experience processing payroll using Paylocity, UKG Ultipro, ADP, etc...
• Payroll Administration: 3 years (Preferred)
• Multi-State payroll reporting: 3 years (Preferred)
• College Degree Preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Work setting:

• Office
• Ability to commute/relocate: Birmingham, AL 35203: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
