This position provides daily coaching, guidance and direction for the Laboratory staff and ensures resources and tools are a 24/7 service and solution provider for the plant.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Provides effective daily supervision, coaching, guidance, and mentorship to Laboratory personnel in the spirit of continued growth and development.
Ø Creates and maintains work schedules.
Ø Organizes daily workflow for the Laboratory Analysts.
Ø Works closely with Operations to define and understand special needs for plant support.
Ø Coordinates sample scheduling changes.
Ø Participates in the development and stewardship of capital and expense budgets.
Ø Serves as the radiation safety officer.
Ø Develops and maintains laboratory standard operating procedures and continues improvement programs.
Ø Inventory and order supplies.
Ø Coordinates outside testing services and communication of sample results.
Ø Identifies gaps in training, quality, resources, programs, etc. and recommends improvements.
Ø Coordinates customer sample shipment and receipt to assure labeling and other regulatory requirements are met.
Ø Maintains good working relationships with co-workers and customers.
Ø Provides first aid treatment as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
v 5 years’ experience in a laboratory or manufacturing operations setting is preferred.
v Supervisory experience
v Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems
v Knowledge of petroleum products industry and statistics is helpful.
v Good interpersonal and communication skills verbal and written.
v Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
v Above average experience with Microsoft products and database programs
v Must be willing to be first aid/CPR trained.
