    J.H. Seale & Son, Inc. is looking for an experienced Dispatcher / Logistics Coordinator to expand our current team. Headquartered in Sumter, JH Seale is a large fuel transporter and distributor operating in the Southeast US. Position will be based in the Sumter area.

    This position reports to the President of Transportation and is responsible for the efficient and cost effective distribution of petroleum products to meet the demands of our customers. The ideal candidate must have previous petroleum transportation experience and have sound decision making skills in order to meet the fast paced environment and ever changing needs of this industry. Must be able to work as part of the dispatch team, as well as independently, possess excellent communications skills and a strong work ethic. Strong possibility for advancement.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Manage customer’s inventory through systems and analysis
    • Acknowledge orders and provide accurate delivery windows based on a thorough understanding of current workload and workforce
    • Analyze workload and determine most efficient means possible to deliver fuel with focus on costs, priorities and logistics
    • Utilize system to dispatch loads to drivers in the proper order and ensure drivers complete workload
    • Communicate directly with customers regarding their requirements
    • Maintain an understanding of DOT regulations and work with the safety and fleet managers to ensure safety first philosophy always followed
    • Assist drivers with the in-cab billing and ELD system

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Petroleum transportation logistics / dispatching experience a must!
    • Proven decision making ability
    • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
    • Team player with strong self-motivation and drive
    • Proficient at multi-tasking
    • High level of initiative
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) required
    • Must be able to work efficiently and effectively in a high volume, fast-paced environment

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibility, but works closely with fleet manager on scheduling and performance evaluation

    Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
