Physician Assistant - Surgical jobs in Alaska

We are looking for a medical assistant to join our team. This position would involve direct patient care and administrative duties. Candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills, compassion, and ability to work independently or in a team. Position is full time. Surgical experience and wound care experience is a plus. Pay dependent on experience. Duties would include:

• Rooming patients
• Updating medical histories
• Taking Vitals
• Preparing patients for examinations
• Assisting the provider with in-office procedures
• Sterile technique and sterilization of instruments
• Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
• Phlebotomy
• Instructing patients about medications and special diets
• Transmitting prescription refills as directed

Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to):

• Using computer applications
• Chart Prepping
• Answering telephones
• Assisting front desk when needed checking-in/checking-out patients
• Scheduling appointments
• Updating and filing patient medical records
• Arranging for hospital admissions, radiology testing and laboratory services as instructed
• Surgery Scheduling

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
