Physician Assistant - Surgical jobs in Virginia
Physician Assistant - Surgical under the direction of physician, performs first assistant surgical duties, including tissue retraction and suturing. Completes pre-op tasks including physical examinations and recording health history. Being a Physician Assistant - Surgical orders appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries Requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Additionally, Physician Assistant - Surgical requires a master's degree of Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). Requires State license to practice. Physician Assistant - Surgical's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Veterinary Surgical Assistant
Veterinary Surgical Centers (VSC), a multi-facility small animal surgery and rehabilitation practice, is seeking energetic and motivated Veterinary Assistants to join our certified boarded-surgeon practice in Leesburg, Virginia.
The ideal candidate will be a positive and energetic individual with one to three years of veterinary experience. Candidates with experience in specialty veterinary medicine preferred.
He/she also will:- Be a team player, who excels whether in a group or working alone
- Possess strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Be comfortable with multi-parameter monitoring equipment, inhalant, and injectable anesthesia
agents- Have a passion for improving quality of life for animals
- Excel at multitasking and working cooperatively with others
Duties to include:- Assisting board-certified surgeons in the care of surgical patients, preparing for surgical procedures and assisting with pre- and post-op care for patients- Helping with surgical instruments, cleaning, packing and sterilizing
- Performing all laboratory in-hospital procedures and to prepare specimens for outside
laboratories- Taking patient histories, vital signs, and weights on patients and assist with consults and other
appointments- Delivering strong and professional customer service to clients, and more!
