This person will work in our referral department processing incoming referrals. This is a very busy department and requires a person that can work independently, quickly and accurately. The referral coordinator position entails working referrals from the time we receive them until they are scheduled with one of our providers.
This person will review and triage each referral to determine that all the records needed were received, and who/when to schedule the patient.
Responsibilities include
*Following referrals to ensure that proper clinical documentation is received and the referral is complete.
*Reviewing the entire medical record to establish which provider to schedule the patient with and when.
*Communicating with referring clinics on status or referrals.
*Maintaining accurate documentation.
*Answering phones calls as needed.
