Physician Recruiter recruits qualified physicians for medical staff and assists and coordinates the development of strategic and comprehensive physician recruitment plans in accordance with the needs and goals of the employer and staff. Performs initial interviews to determine candidate suitability for placement. Being a Physician Recruiter requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be a Physician Recruiter typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Senior Physician Recruiter

    Essential Functions
    • Prospect, qualify and match candidates to surgeon positions within the organization.
    • Generate and manage potential candidate leads for open job requisitions.
    • Evaluate the knowledge and skills of each candidate against the client's requirements.
    • Researches and attends job fairs, conferences, and other surgeon recruitment opportunities. Researches association publications, web sites and other appropriate resources on which to post surgeon opportunities.
    • Works closely with the marketing development team on design for collateral materials for surgeon recruitment. Develops annual strategic and monthly plans to fill open positions consisting of marketing events, telephone calls, emails, interviews, and site visits.
    • Maintains the candidate data base/pipeline reflecting documentation of open positions, sourcing activity (phone calls, emails, marketing events etc..) lead, and candidate status, interviews scheduled, site visits, contracts sent, accepted, declined, or rejected. Uses database to load all leads received from marketing events, job boards, cold calls, referrals, and any other CVs obtained from the various sources in a timely manner.
    • Build and coordinate all aspects of candidate itineraries, agendas and site visits including travel and hotel reservations, practice and community tours, appointments with surgeons, lunch/dinner reservations, and developing itineraries that are interest-based for the surgeon and spouse including providing local transportation as needed.
    • Ensure completion of weekly surgeon pipeline report for Executive Leadership meeting.
    • Assist with facilitating and attends surgeon recruitment meetings with operations leadership, as needed.
    • Assist with drafting Employee Agreements, Terms Sheets, and Employee Agreement Amendments as needed.
    • Contacts professional references for each candidate; documents information gathered and submits to executive team. Reviews post interview feedback from interviewers to determine interest on all parties' behalf.
    • Provides assistance to new hire surgeons in becoming acclimated to the organization during their transition/relocation.
    • Stays current on regional and national physician hiring trends and practices; researches competitor's activities to keep informed of changes impacting OSP’s ability to hire and retain top surgeon talent.
    • Participates in other duties and responsibilities as assigned to recruit and retain surgeons.
     
     
    Qualifications
     
    Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
     
    Experience:
    • Experience: Minimum 2 years in Physician Recruiting
    • Physician, healthcare, or agency healthcare recruiting experience required.
     
    Performance Requirements:
    • Approachable, professional demeanor
    • Independent decision-making skills and utilization of sound judgement.
    • Excellent communication skills including negotiation skills; must be persistent and persuasive.
    • Must be able to establish rapport and effective working relationships with surgeons and practice administrators.
    • Must be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage a large workload, to meet established deadlines.
    • Ability to develop alternative solutions to problems; comparing and analyzing data; preparing clear, concise, thorough, meaningful, and grammatically correct written reports, letters, memoranda, and other documents.
    • Ability to independently plan, organize, prioritize, schedule, coordinate, and make decisions relating to assigned tasks.
    • Very strong customer service orientation, positive attitude, highly self-motivated, directed and change oriented.
    • Combination of education and experience may be considered.
    • Advanced proficiency in various computer applications, e.g. word processing, excel spreadsheet, e-mail, database management and presentation software.
    • Ability to apply discretion, trust with confidential Company information, along with the ability to formulate a sound decision using the available information.
