  • Position Summary
    The Cutting Operator runs various machines in the cutting department to a level that meets or exceeds department expectations.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    This position is primarily, yet not exclusively responsible and accountable for the following:
    • Set up and operation of a guillotine paper cutter.
    • Knowledge of bindery equipment a plus.
    • Operating machinery efficiently daily.
    • Ensuring machine-related documentation is completed timely and accurate.
    Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.     • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
    • Basic computer knowledge.
    • Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.
    • Have a working knowledge of computer functions for equipment set up and job costing.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions from both written and oral communications. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
