Power Scheduler develops and maintains daily, weekly and monthly schedules for power generation, storage, and wheeling. Monitors and coordinates generation and interchange according to contracts and pooling arrangements. Being a Power Scheduler schedules all power purchases and sales with other utilities. Maintains logs documenting all relevant operating information, problems and issues. Additionally, Power Scheduler requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Power Scheduler occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:


    Responsible for scheduling, relaying prep information, and obtaining pre-authorizations and pre-certifications as required.

    Requirements

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Schedule surgeries, procedures, tests as assigned by office. Inform referring office/patient of prep requirements as needed.
    • Clerical duties to include use of office equipment, prepping and retrieving charts, completing forms for patients, answering phones, reviewing charge tickets for accuracy, keying charges, editing and keying various documents, burning CD’s, assist patients with billing/account information, keying and maintaining protocol, etc. as assigned by office.
    • Orders supplies as assigned by office.
    • Obtaining and reporting preauthorization and precertification information as required.
    • OSHA compliance as assigned by office.
    • Maintains patient confidentiality.


    EDUCATION:

    High school diploma.


    EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum of one-year experience in customer service setting, preferably six months receptionist/scheduler experience in healthcare setting and experience with office equipment.


    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Knowledge of managed care principles, reception tasks, clinic policies/procedures, paperwork.
    • Knowledge of how to use office equipment including phone, computer.
    • Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques.
    • Skill in using office equipment satisfactorily and handling paperwork/filing adequately.
    • Skill in customer service principles.
    • Ability to communicate clearly in person and on the phone and establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, physicians, staff and other customers.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Ability to read, understand and follow oral written instructions. Can file correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.
