Additionally, Privacy Director ensures that compliance monitoring, auditing, and remediation are effective. Leads research and prepares communications in response to privacy-related events or consumer, government, or media inquiries. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Privacy Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     About The Role

    FTI Consulting’s Technology Segment is seeking a Privacy Engineering Director to support our clients across various data architecture, solution design, risk analysis, analytics, automation, and product development projects where Personally Identifiable Information is involved, and privacy compliance is at issue. In this role, you will advise upon, design, build, and maintain solutions that address unique challenges of personal data use, monetization, anonymization, reporting, monitoring, and data management. You'll be a part of setting an innovative vision for the practice and involved in supporting projects across all of FTI Technology’s service areas where challenging personal data issues arise.  You’ll be called upon to collaborate internally and externally and serve as an important voice to the market for FTI’s privacy engineering services. This job may also involve supporting and working in areas such as Investigations, Information Governance and Electronic Discovery (eDiscovery) related to the collection of computer and digital data, digital forensics, cyber investigations, data management, document review consulting, and engagement project management as part of a program that provides consultants exposure to all parts of the business.

     

    What You’ll Do

    • Guide client engineering teams on key product development questions to ensure transparent data collection, user privacy, and risk mitigation.
    • Design, develop, and implement privacy capabilities, patterns, and policies integrated into products.
    • Develop technical solutions to ensure client privacy policies are correctly implemented, advancing compliance, and supporting business data use.
    • Interface with client stakeholders, developers, and architects to implement data solutions, ensuring both business needs and privacy protections are in place.
    • Support the implementation of privacy program transactional tools such as OneTrust and develop downstream system integrations using relevant RESTful API framework.
    • Assimilate team members and leverage resources to deliver quality work product and meet client needs.
    • Coach and mentor junior consultants to identify opportunities for formal development.
    • Develop and deploy novel data & analytics solutions to support privacy reporting and risk monitoring.
    • Document systems diagrams, technical documentation, guidance documents, and data flows.
    • Participate in new business pursuits and support key go-to-market activities.

    What You Will Need To Succeed  

    Basic Qualifications 

    • Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Computer Sciences or a related technical field
    • 5  years of relevant post-graduate professional experience in software engineering, privacy compliance and risk management
    • 2 years of coding experience in one of the following programming languages: Python, JavaScript, C/C , Ruby, PHP, SQL
    • Ability to travel to clients and FTI Office(s) as needed
    • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship

     

    Preferred Qualifications 

    • Proficiency in full stack development, front-end and back-end application development and infrastructure deployment
    • Experience in spearheading changes across diverse business units with varied priorities
    • Background or experience in corporate program management (consulting or in-house)
    • Background in aiding product rollouts or knowledge of the product lifecycle
    • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau
    • Familiarity with key data privacy regulations such as HIPAA, CCPA, GDPR, CAN-SPAM, etc.
    • Familiarity with client relationship development and maintaining relationships outside of an engagement
    • Familiarity with user-facing privacy control development and downstream system integration
    • Familiarity with compliance standards in cloud technology, particularly concerning data protection and privacy, along with typical risks and safeguards
    • Experience in expanding privacy measures and functionalities in prevalent cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GDP, Snowflake, and more
    • Experience with data anonymization, pseudonymization and encryption to develop systems that preserver and improve privacy protections
    • Familiarity with client relationship development and maintaining relationships outside of an engagement
