Product Development Director plans and directs the resources and processes required to implement the vision and strategy for new product development and product lifecycle management of existing products. Establishes research and concept development projects and capabilities to innovate new products, product enhancements, and product redesign. Being a Product Development Director conducts market analysis and interacts with customers and prospects to identify new markets, articulate the value proposition, define requirements, and lead the development of a product roadmap. Oversees new product development and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing, to ensure that new and existing products support the organization's financial goals. Additionally, Product Development Director develops teams with the knowledge and expertise to fulfill product development objectives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Product Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Product Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. At our Hudson, New Hampshire, site, we specialize in creating CVD silicon carbide and precision machined components for a wide range of industries, from semiconductors to optics. We have an opportunity for a Product Development Engineer to bring expertise, creativity and passion to our team. You will play a key role in developing semiconductor production tools and driving next generation technology solutions.

    Responsibilities

    What You Will Do:

    • Become an expert in semiconductor production tools, enhancing your knowledge across multiple product lines.
    • Partner with customers during new product development, recommending design modifications to optimize manufacturability.
    • Enable compliance activities, including product classification, end-user investigations and meticulous record-keeping.
    • Collaborate with our commercial team to shape quotes and plan fabrication procedures, aiding in the preparation of accurate cost estimates.
    • Create precise solid models and CAD drawings for both vendors and customers, ensuring clear communication and definition of product requirements.
    • Drive cross-functional connections with multiple production departments to fully leverage our global brains.
    • Develop technical presentations to assist our global production efforts of complex parts.
    • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation to navigate essential process or product variations.

    Qualifications

    You Will Bring:

    • A proactive and innovative approach to product development engineering.
    • An understanding of machining methods and a strong capability in CAD - SolidWorks would be ideal.
    • Excellent communication skills for both internal collaboration and external customer interaction.
    • A knack for precision and detail, particularly in technical documentation and compliance activities.
