Being a Product Development Manager coordinates with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing, to ensure that new and existing products meet development targets and support the organization's financial goals.     Position Overview

    The Manager, Product Development is responsible for driving the success of IT projects through effective business analysis, requirements gathering, project road mapping, and user acceptance testing. This individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards.


    This is a hybrid position 2 - 3 days in office 2 - 3 remote. 


    Essential Job Functions

    • Execute IT development strategy in key areas of opportunity for improved user experience, new service offerings to clients/customers, and improved workflows for internal users.
    • Lead and manage IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
    • Conduct thorough business analysis to understand company and/or customer needs, requirements, and pain points.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
    • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to elicit and document functional and technical requirements.
    • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that deliverables meet user requirements and acceptance criteria.
    • Identify and escalate issues or risks that may impact project timelines or deliverables.
    • Communicate project status updates, risks, and issues to stakeholders and leadership team regularly.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and methodologies.
    • Mentor and coach team members to foster professional growth and development.

    Skills & Specifications

    • Experience with multiple generations of technology architecture and the transformation of legacy platforms into modern, cloud-based platforms.
    • Experience with advanced integration technologies and how to effectively and efficiently integrate multiple legacy platforms with modern, cloud-based platforms.
    • Experience with delivering large, complex development efforts using agile-oriented methodology
    • Experience with assessing technical scope and translating the scope into accurate time and cost estimates
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skill including the ability to describe complex technical concepts in relatable terms.
    • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple workstreams and confidence in making decisions about how to prioritize work efforts.


    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field. 
    • Proven experience (5 years) in IT project management or business analysis roles, preferably in [specific industry or sector].
    • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
    • Proficiency in business analysis techniques, including requirements elicitation, documentation, and validation.
    • Experience with project management tools, such as Jira, Trello, or Microsoft Azure DevOps
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CBAP, PMI-PBA) are a plus.

    • Demonstrated ability to think critically and problem solve
    • Act with persistence and tact in resolving issues both internally and externally
    • Strong customer relations skills that include the ability to work with discretion and integrity
    • Demonstrate highest level of professionalism in both appearance and behavior
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
    • Proven conflict resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills
    • Strong project management skills to accurately assess scope, develop viable plans, and mitigate risk
    • Strong work ethic, able to travel as needed to meetings and training events
    • Experience in the relocation industry is a plus 

    Physical Requirements

    This position is considered light duty with frequent phone and computer use.
