  • We are currently hiring a Production Manager responsible for overseeing all production schedules and activities while maintaining safety, quality, and cost standards. This role will focus on team engagement and development to drive operational excellence across all shifts in processing and packaging.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Directly manages processing and packaging supervisors on all shifts.
    • Ensure optimum scheduling is in place to meet plant KPI’s.
    • Maintain good employee, corporate, and community relations.
    • Review budgets for production departments.
    • Perform other duties/responsibilities as required by Management.
    • Ensure compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer, and government standards.
    • Strive to be a safety solutions leader by maintaining a safety-first mindset.
    • Participate in engagement activities, complete required safety training and aid in identifying hazards within the facility utilizing BBS and Safety Monitor programs.
    • Participate in activities related to company Operational Excellence initiatives.
    • Ensure a disciplined and safe work environment.
    • Use modern management techniques to promote team building and to allow decision making at the lowest level.
    • Confirm that required production reporting is accurate and timely.
    • Maintain close working relationships with all departments and respond to deviations from standards immediately.
    • Provide training, direction, development, evaluation, coaching and leadership to subordinates.
    • Meet established objectives pertaining to production department and controls and minimizes the shift’s overtime labor costs, maintenance/repair costs, and equipment downtime.
    • Work with HR on hiring, training, and scheduling of work force.
    • Coordinate with other department managers to ensure proper purchasing, processing, packaging, accounting and inventory control activities and procedures are in place and being followed.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • 5-7 years management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food-related industry.
    • Bachelor's or Associate degree in a related field preferred; high school diploma, GED or equivalent required. Working knowledge of scheduling, budgets, ERP systems, and production processes.
    • Demonstrated process improvement experience, specifically in driving up OEE.
    • Demonstrated multi-shift leadership experience with groups of over 100 people.
    • Bi-lingual preferred.
    • Experience with food safety and quality audits.

    Working Conditions/Environment

    Works in an office and manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, and bend while moving about the facility. The employee is occasionally exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the office is moderate and loud in the plant. Earplugs and hairnets are required in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
