Manufacturing Production Scheduler and Manager
  • ModVans
  • Sparks, NV FULL_TIME
  • ModVans is searching for a smart, hard working, organized, and experienced manufacturing production scheduler and manager. You will be creating and maintaining a production schedule in our MRP system and managing a small, hard working, manufacturing production team to meet your schedule. In addition, you will be helping define and iteratively refine our manufacturing process. You will report directly to our COO.

This position requires a high amount of organization and computer skills. Your interview will include a significant skills based test. Do not apply for this position if you cannot create a production schedule involving vertically integrated manufacturing, multi-level bills of materials and multiple types of work centers.

ModVans is a fun, exciting and rapidly growing company that offers opportunities for advancement and reward, including stock incentives. The greater your contribution, the greater your reward!

ModVans designs and manufactures high-tech, multipurpose vehicles with camping features and sells direct to consumers via our website, www.modvans.com.

Our award-winning and unique vehicles feature the largest available lithium batteries of any RV and the most technologically advanced RV systems and controls. Launched in 2017, we have achieved great things in a few very intense years. You can learn more about these achievements at https://www.modvans.com/news.

We recently moved into a 30,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in beautiful Sparks, NV. We are excited about expanding our production and we are looking for a smart, skilled, and experienced Scheduler and Manager to help us grow fast!

This role is not for somebody new to production management. We want somebody with a track record that demonstrates all of these abilities:

    • Create and manage 100% computerized production schedules, define and track production metrics, and report to executive management
    • Manage 10 or more production employees with diverse skills and responsibilities
    • Work with a large and complex supply chain and assembly process
    • Identify and creatively solve issues causing slow or low quality production, engaging with other teams as needed
    • Hire and train production employees

We have engineers, production employees with experience, supply chains in place, and multiple completed vehicles of each model, so you won’t be jumping into something undefined. However, we are interested in your input to define our production management processes, so you will have both the freedom and responsibility to define and implement your preferred processes. We will teach you about high tech vans and you will teach us how to effectively schedule, manage and scale production.

If you've read this far and you are still thinking "this sounds amazing!" and "I'm a perfect fit!", there are a few things you can do to help us find each other:

    • Submit your resume in PDF form. PDF works better than doc(x) on Indeed. As a smart and resourceful person, we expect you to be able to read and follow basic instructions and know (or figure out) the difference between Word documents and PDF, so don't get this wrong.
    • Answer all the Indeed questions, including the ones about relevant experience and interest in the work. Yes, we know this is annoying, but we get resumes all day long from people that just want a job, and that is not what we are looking for. We want people that care deeply about the work. Your hobbies and interests are strong indicators (and also an opportunity to demonstrate your excellent communication skills).
    • If you do not have any relevant work experience, hobbies, or interests, please do not apply for this position. Instead, apply for one of our production or assistant positions so you can discover your passion in a role with fewer responsibilities.

Failure to follow the above guidelines will result in your application being automatically rejected.

    General Info

    • Our manufacturing shift runs 8 hours Monday - Friday with overtime occasionally required after hours or on weekends.
    • There will be failure AND success. Pushing boundaries, both in R&D and production, often results in initial failures. On tough days, we joke that "ModVans is hard."
    • You will work on things that have never been done before. "Nobody told me how to do it" is not an acceptable excuse. To accomplish something never done before, there has to be someone that figures how to do it and that someone will be you!
    • Ask for help when you need it. It is a fine line between "self-starter" and not wasting time figuring things out unnecessarily. You will need to find that line.
    • Completion is everything. ModVans defines success as delivering extremely high quality vehicles to happy customers.

This position is a paid, full time position with benefits such as paid time off, health insurance, and stock options.

Respond to this post with a resume and any other background info (workplace success stories, hobbies, clubs, projects, etc.) that demonstrates your ability and interest in this role.

Your interview will be a working interview that may include a visit to our shop floor. Please dress accordingly.
