Professor - Drama teaches courses in the discipline area of drama and theater arts. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Drama provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Drama typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Share your love of drama, acting and improv. with children this summer! Camp Kaleidoscope, the JCC performing arts day camp in Newton, is looking for creative and enthusiastic drama instructors and youth theater directors who can make performing and acting fun. Activities may include storytelling, acting instruction, improv. games and more. Teach up to five daily drama classes to campers entering grades K-3 (grouped by grade level) and direct two camper shows / performances during the summer.

Camp Kaleidoscope draws creative youth interested in the arts, science and the outdoors. Supportive, experienced counselors and teachers guide campers as they develop and build self-confidence. Camp is fast-paced, nurturing and supportive, as both campers and staff develop lifelong friendships.
Salary for the full season is $4,800-$6,500. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the scope of the position, the candidate’s relevant experience, and internal equity. While a full summer commitment is preferred for this summer role, there is some flexibility.
