POSITION:                   TEACHER (CLASSROOM)

TERM:                         Eleven month work year

REPORTS TO:              Supervisor of Curriculum & Instruction

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities.
3. Valid CPR Certification as Issued by The American Red Cross or equivalent.
4. Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in use of educationally appropriate technology.

JOB DESCRIPTION:    

1. Provide academic instruction to students.
2. Implement student IEP requirements.
3. Establish a class environment that fosters learning and personal growth.
4. Help students develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continued education.
5. Maintain good relationships with parents and other staff members.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain excellent attendance for contractual work schedule.
2. Perform instructional duties in a professional manner.
3. Provide specialized instructional needs to address students’ disabilities.
4. Exercising authority in the classroom.
5. Supporting student transition.
6. Support non-academic programs of the schools.
7. Enhance the educational environment and opportunities available at the schools.
8. Maintain and enhance professional competency.
9. Uphold and enforces school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
10. Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
11. Collaborate with other professional staff members to elicit the very best from students.
12. Be punctual and prepared for all meetings.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Curriculum & Instruction.
