    NV5 is seeking an Electrical Engineering Co-op to work in our Braintree, MA office. A position is available for electrical academic track individuals interested in exposure to the building design and construction industry. The Co-op will collaborate with NV5 engineers in a multi-discipline team environment for design of building mechanical, electrical, and piping systems. Based on candidate interests, Co-ops will gain experience with building systems including but not limited to power distribution, life safety systems, lighting, air distribution, heating water, chilled water, and steam systems for office buildings, academic facilities, laboratories, and industrial projects in and around the area.

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in field surveys to investigate and document existing conditions of buildings.
    • Assist project engineers with engineering calculations for building systems design.
    • Actively engage with project engineers and designers to develop and create design and construction drawings using Revit 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
    • Other duties may include attending client meetings with project managers and engineers, writing reports, generating system diagrams and details. General office duties may be required from time to time to assist in the smooth operation of the firm.

    Qualifications

    • Must be working towards a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering.
    • Formal training in AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with familiarity with Microsoft Products such as Excel and Outlook.
