Optimal candidates will have experience teaching at the secondary level as well as athletic coaching. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach four sections of Upper School English Create weekly objectives and lessons and post to Canvas, the school’s Learning Management System Meet with students individually or in small groups to provide extra support when needed Participate in bimonthly English Department meetings and weekly full faculty meetings Communicate with students, parents, and colleagues to update all on student progress and/or areas of concern Serve as an advisor to a group of 5 students and serve as their academic guide and social support on campus QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors in English or related field (Masters preferred) Experience in a school or university setting AFTERNOON PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES All full time faculty participate in two seasons of the Afternoon Program as a coach or activity leader. Coaching and supervision requires direction of the student group/team from 3:30-5pm and includes leading the group to contests and events on and off campus. All faculty expected to drive WMA 14 passenger vehicles after initial training/trial RESIDENTIAL LIFE RESPONSIBILITIES If living off campus, faculty are asked to provide four weekends per year of weekend activity duty/supervision. If living on campus, faculty are required to participate in the residential life program one night per week and approximately one weekend per month. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Physical demands include dexterity for office machines including but not limited to computers, telephones, electronic calculators, copy machines, and printers. Common physical demands include stooping, bending, reaching, walking, driving and sitting or standing for extended periods.
