Professor - Environmental Engineering teaches courses in the discipline area of environmental engineering. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Environmental Engineering provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Environmental Engineering typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Overview

    As an Environmental Scientist/Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll conduct office and field activities related to environmental remediation projects and help develop plans, permit applications, and reports. Duties may include:

      Preparing and reviewing environmental data tables, maps, figures, and reports to help interprets results and make recommendations for further action.
    • Oversight of environmental remediation projects both in an emergency and non-emergency setting.
    • Contributing to the preparation and review of environmental regulatory reports and plans, specifically under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP) and other state remedial programs in New England.
    • Conducting underground storage tank (UST) closure assessments.
    • Conducting field investigations, data collection, and site reconnaissance tasks, including sampling of a variety of environmental media.

    Applicants will have an option to sit in either our Raynham, MA or Peabody, MA office locations.

    Qualifications
    • B.S. in Environmental Science or related field;
    • 6 years professional experience;
    • Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP) experience a plus;
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence;
    • Ability to use Microsoft Word Processing and MS Excel spreadsheet software.
