Canton High School seeks a highly qualified and DESE dual-certified French and German teacher who has native or near-native fluency in the language to teach French and German for the 2024-2025 school year. Near-native speakers should have experience studying, working and/or teaching abroad. Proficiency in Spanish and/or Italian is a plus.
Successful applicants should be capable of teaching any level of French and German (levels 1-4). Prospective candidates must have the knowledge and capacity to design and implement effective, engaging, and student-centered high school world languages curriculum units and lessons.

Desired candidates will be creative self-starters, able to design, scaffold, and implement instructional units and Integrated Performance Assessments (IPAs) informed by the 2021 MA World Languages Curriculum Framework, ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines and 2017 NCSSFL-ACTFL Can-Do Statements, 21st Century Skills, Understanding By Design (UbD), and the essential design elements of Project-Based Learning (PBL).
Candidates must be comfortable using a variety of technologies, such as a digital language laboratory and Google Classroom, to engage learners in authentic learning experiences. Successful applicants will have experience with content-based instruction, proficiency-based teaching and learning, TPR/S, CI, universal design for learning, and culturalexchanges, likethe GAPP Exchange.
