    We are currently seeking to fill our Assistant/Associate Professor Pathology position at the Georgia campus with a highly qualified and passionate individual.

    Job Title: Assistant/Associate Professor Pathology

    Dept. of Bio-Medical Sciences

    Location: Suwanee, Georgia

    Employment Type: Exempt, Full-time

    Position Summary:

    The Assistant/Associate Professor role entails teaching multidisciplinary courses in a specific subject area (approximately 70% of the time) while engaging in service and scholarly activities (approximately 30% of the time).Preferred skills and attributes for this position include familiarity with current trends in higher education and a track record of successful collaboration and interdisciplinary work. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to supporting the university's mission and vision, handling sensitive situations with discretion, and promoting diversity and inclusion with professionalism. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit, are essential. The ability to establish effective working relationships, provide exceptional customer service, and supervise, advise, train, and assess peers and students is crucial. Candidates should possess strong organization, time management, and prioritization skills, with experience in fast-paced environments and attention to detail. Additionally, proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office suites is preferred.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement integrated pathology content for first- and second-year students, aligning with established learning objectives and competency standards.
    • Provide instruction in biomedical science didactic sessions within a clinical context, integrating active teaching and learning techniques.
    • Collaborate with preclinical and clinical science educators and program directors to develop and implement presentations, ensuring horizontal and vertical integration of biomedical science within organ/system-based courses.
    • Participate in facilitating the "clinical presentation" based curriculum as assigned.
    • Contribute to planning and developing curricula, case studies, and tutorials aligned with program objectives, protocol, and standards.
    • Assist in developing and implementing student assessment materials and effective remediation experiences as needed.
    • Mentor and advise medical students on academic, curricular, and career matters.
    • Design, develop, and maintain program databases and records, aiding in preparing reports on educational activities and events.
    • Support technological platforms linking course content, activities, and assessments.

    Administrative Coordinator Responsibilities:

    • Serve as course director as needed.
    • Participate in service and administrative duties, including serving on institutional committees as assigned.
    • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

    Required Experience and Education:

    • Minimum of two years' teaching experience in pathology within a higher education setting, preferably a medical school.
    • M.D., D.O., or PHD required.
