Professor - Special Education teaches courses in the discipline area of special education. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Special Education provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Special Education typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
    • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students in classroom settings
    • Assist with the development of social skills and positive behavioral interventions
    • Collaborate with special education teachers to monitor student progress
    • Participate in training and professional development opportunities
    • Assist with daily living and self-care tasks as needed
    • Facilitate the inclusion of students in general education classrooms

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field preferred
    • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is highly desirable
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and school administration
    • Patience, understanding, and a positive demeanor

    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

    Salary: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
