Program Specialist (Non-Profit) plans and coordinates one or more programs of a non-profit organization. Coordinates fundraising, budgeting, and community outreach efforts. Being a Program Specialist (Non-Profit) develops an event calendar and implements programs that align with the organization's vision, mission, and goals. Creates program materials, establishes staffing requirements, and ensures that the program achieves stated objectives. Additionally, Program Specialist (Non-Profit) measures the performance of programs and makes adjustments to optimize results. Utilizes a client relationship management (CRM) or another system to organize information and facilitate outreach communications. Works with partners on special events that publicize the organization and its programs to the community. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Program Specialist (Non-Profit) work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Salary & Compensation Package: $55,360 per year

    • Base Salary $40,000
    • Car Allowance ($425 a month & Cell Phone $55 a month): $5,760
    • Annual Average of Executive Mileage Reimbursement: $3,600
    • Annual Bonuses up to $6,000

    Position Description:

    We are looking for a self-starting, motivated person who excels at building relationships, enjoys sales, marketing and providing excellent customer service. If you have skills in marketing, management, budgeting, event planning, sales, fundraising, customer service, and are comfortable with public speaking and interacting with diverse audiences, you should consider taking the opportunity to become a professional Scouter. A self-motivated individual with solid time-management skills and strong organizational skills will be successful in this role.

    District Executives are a diverse group, sharing a dynamic career offering independence, achievement, and stability. The District Executive is the manager of a designated territory (called a district) consisting of multiple counties or population centers within the Lincoln Heritage Council’s 64 counties. We are looking for someone to take ownership of growing the district in the key areas of finance, membership, and volunteer development – this is not a clock-in clock-out type of job. This position provides a flexible schedule, ability for remote work, and involves seasonal travel.     This is a first entry level position that will most likely require relocating to another location to be able to advance in the organization.

    Starting Pay and Benefits:

    In addition to offering a competitive salary, Professional Scouting offers benefits including major medical insurance, prescription plan, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, and a 403(b)-retirement plan including a matching contribution plan from the company, as well as compensation for authorized and approved business-related expenses to include phone ($55 a month), car allowance ($425 a month), and business mileage. We also offer a generous PTO policy (24 days) and several paid holiday observances (10 days). All councils are equal opportunity employers.

    Training:

    Comprehensive professional training opportunities are provided during the first three years of tenure. Annual training and development opportunities continue throughout the career.

    Requirements:

    • Must be willing to accept and meet the Boy Scout of America’s leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
    • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
    • Attained 21 years of age or older unless prohibited by any applicable law
    • Ability to work varied hours when necessary, evening activities, and weekend work is frequently required to achieve positive objectives
    • Ability to travel for training at least once a year for one to two weeks
    • Ability to lift 20 pounds regularly
    • A Scouting background is helpful but not required for employment
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
    • People-oriented, having the ability to work well with adult volunteers, community and business leaders, and representatives of other organizations
    • Non-profit, fundraising, sales or marketing experience is a plus
    • Offers for employment are subject to criminal, reference, and motor vehicle background checks.
