Project Controls Manager jobs in Utah
Project Controls Manager develops and implements standardized project controls to manage budgets, scheduling, and quality for engineering, construction, and other types of projects. Establishes controls and operating policies that identify, monitor, and mitigate risk factors that could impact the success of a project. Being a Project Controls Manager creates standard methods for project estimating, procurement, accounting, work breakdown structure, contract management, reporting, and other project-related processes. Ensures controls address cost or budget considerations, scope changes, supplier performance, and other risk levels. Additionally, Project Controls Manager provides guidance and consultation to project managers. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Project Controls Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Project Controls Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Role Responsibilities
- Provide technical, application and product support, including pricing and delivery information to salespeople and customers
- Review incoming orders for proper product selection and application.
- Support Outside Sales with lead qualification/follow-up, Bid specifications and Project bid specifications
- Answer sales personnel’s questions regarding doing business with Rust Automation & Controls (tools and processes)
- Perform field visits to customer sites for relationship development, training, and driving sales
- Assist and manage certain sales initiates to drive business directly with customers
Job Requirements
- Actively seeks information to understand customer circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs
- Acts independently through personal initiative
- Demonstrates an understanding of customer needs to initiate solutions
- Implement customer feedback to improve overall experience and prevent issues from occurring
- Thinks critically with problem-solving skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents and bid specifications
- Effectively present information in a clear and organized manner, and respond professionally and appropriately to questions of managers, reps, and customers
- Ability to read P&ID drawings & engineer specifications to align the bill of materials of our product offering to match those requirements
- Basic knowledge of Pressure, Temperature, Analytical, Flow, Level, etc. type transmitter equipment, and their corresponding ISA type symbols and abbreviations a plus.
- CRM experience such as Salesforce, Netsuite, or equivalent systems. (Preferred)
- Experience with Excel, Word, and other general Microsoft type software.
